All our batteries are fully IP rated for both internal and external installations. Your installation engineer will discuss your preferred location with you ahead of the works. If you have any specific requests, please contact the office ahead of ordering. Please note that new guidelines recommend not installing batteries in main loft spaces.

Home batteries fall under permitted development rights, so planning consent is not required for installation. However, if your property is located in a conservation area, is listed, or is of historical interest, you will need to seek approval from the relevant authorities before placing an order.

A typical battery installation takes one working day. However, more complex installations may take slightly longer.

Several energy providers offer ‘off-peak’ tariffs for cheaper night time charging. We recommend exploring your tariff options before making a purchase. Kendrick Renewables takes no responsibility for the tariffs you may or may not be able to obtain.

The expected lifespan of a modern lithium-ion home battery is generally 10 to 15 years. The actual useful life is measured both by time and by the number of charge/discharge cycles it completes before its capacity significantly degrades.

The cost varies significantly by size and brand, but a standard 10 kWh home battery unit (excluding installation) can range widely, typically from £4,500 to over £9,500 in the UK before incentives.
The total installed cost will include the inverter, professional installation labor, and any necessary electrical upgrades, with a full 10 kWh home battery installation (often alongside solar panels) typically costing between £8,000 and £16,400 or more.

The Depth of Discharge (DoD) is the percentage of a battery’s capacity that has been discharged. A 90% DoD means you’ve used 90% of its stored energy. Modern lithium-ion batteries typically have a high DoD (e.g., 90%-100%), meaning nearly all their stored energy is usable, which makes them more efficient and valuable than older lead-acid options.
